What’s with the name?

There are good stories and bad stories. There are stories that move us and stories that bore us. We believe in an Epic Story that God is telling. It is much bigger than any one of us and yet we get to play a role in that Story. As a church our main focus is to help people embrace the Story they are meant to live – a story of love, of hope, and of restoration. When we live out that Story – our families, our neighborhoods, our cities, and even the world become more like what God intended them to be in the beginning.

Where do you meet?

We meet at Spring Valley Elementary School in southeast Durham.

When do you meet?

What kind of church is this?

We are a Christian church that believes in the Bible as the inspired word of God. We are partners with two organizations – Converge Worldwide, and the Association of Related Churches (ARC).

How should I dress?

What you have on right now is fine with us. Well… unless you just got out of bed, or the shower…. But seriously – shorts, flip flops, jeans, it really doesn’t matter to us.

What does Story Church have for my kids?

We have a great kids program. If your kids don’t leave begging you to come back, then we haven’t done our job. Our kids program has been set up with your child’s safety in mind. We have a check in process that makes sure you and only you are able to pick up your kids. All of our children’s workers have gone through extensive application and background checks as well.

What can I expect from a typical Sunday service?

We will never single you out as a visitor or make you uncomfortable. We think you will enjoy your time with us. You will be warmly welcomed, given something to eat and drink, and encouraged to participate in worship through singing. We will try and encourage you and challenge you with a message and give you opportunity to go further in your relationship with God. We will take great care with your kids and give them an experience that they will enjoy as well.
