We’ve told a defeated story. Rather than focusing on who the Bible says we ALREADY ARE, we’ve spent too much time focusing on who we USED TO BE.

We’ve been inconsistent. Jesus said that the way people would know we follow Him would be our love for one another. The truth is, most people don’t think of Christians as the most loving people they know. It’s usually quite the opposite.

We’ve misused the Bible. We’ve sucked the life right out of it at times, and at other times we’ve used it to hurt people.

We’ve acted as though we know everything there is to know about God, but the reality is that we have doubts and questions too.

The resurrection speaks to God’s desire to take what is broken and messed up and to make something new. We are God’s reclamation project.
