Do you remember hearing that as a child? As children we often feel weak and vulnerable. But in a healthy family dynamic, dad makes us feel strong. It’s why we appeal to him in a scary situation – “My dad can beat up your dad.” As God’s children, we are able to tackle our fears not because of our own strength, but because of the strength of our Dad, the Father that loves us.

God is here
Sometimes we have the sense that God is somewhere else, or that He’s active in someone else’s life, but not really in ours. What if the place you are at right now is holy ground? What if your eyes were opened to what was unseen? The truth is that God is always at work, always present, and always moving. When we begin to live in that reality – nothing is ever the same.

Desperation
All throughout the Bible we see desperate people having encounters with God. Yet in our world, we rarely choose to put ourselves into desperate situations. Instead we insulate ourselves with comforts. Maybe we are missing out on some of the most powerful movements of God by refusing to be desperate before him.
